Anna Maria Patton

Anna Maria is excited to continue her work with the students of the Academy of Children's Theatre. She received her undergraduate degree in Theatre from Centenary College of Louisiana, and went on to receive her "advanced Theatre degree" with her Juris Doctorate from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU. A lifelong teacher, Anna Maria began teaching dance at the age of 13, subsequently becoming an Adjunct Professor in the Dance Department of Centenary College for several years. She has had the privilege of appearing in numerous theatrical productions over the years, starring as “Mary Poppins”, and “Maria” in 'The Sound of Music', among many others. In 2012, Anna Maria received the PRIDE award for Outstanding Performing Arts Professional from the Shreveport - Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau. Sha has also received "SB Memory Awards' for Best Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of “Belle” in 'Beauty and the Beast' and for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in 'The Odd Couple' and a Times Drama Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for Sondheim’s ‘Merrily We Roll Along’. Anna Maria is ready to bring her experience and technical expertise to her students in a sound, practical way!
